A Restorative Retreat

Curated by KALEO Retreats for women with NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis & VHL

We are now accepting applications for our Oct 1-4, 2026 Wellness Retreat.

This fall, Being Positioned is inviting a small group of women with NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis and VHL to step away from appointments, overwhelm, and the weight of “pushing through” and into a weekend of rest, connection, and renewal.

Held October 1–4 in a peaceful oceanfront home on Florida’s beautiful 30A coast, this retreat is designed specifically for women living with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 & 2, Schwannomatosis and Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. It’s a space to be fully yourself, with no need to explain your condition, your hearing loss, or any other challenges because everyone here gets it.

I’m Christina, the founder of Being Positioned, and I’ll be helping lead the retreat alongside the KALEO team. I also live with NF2, so this isn’t just something I care about—it’s something I deeply understand. This retreat was born out of my own journey of healing as I learn to support my body after everything it’s been through physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My hope is that this weekend feels like a breath of fresh air for your body, mind, and soul. A space where you can not only rest, but begin to reconnect with your body in a kind, supportive way and leave feeling more equipped to cope with all that comes with life with a rare genetic disorder.

Together, we’ll slow down, breathe deep, and tend to our bodies, nervous systems, and spirits. This is a weekend to step out of the clinical and back into who God created you to be: whole, worthy, and wonderfully human. Whether you’re navigating a recent diagnosis or a lifetime of challenges, you’re not meant to carry this alone. This retreat offers the rare opportunity to connect with women walking the same road, but in a way that feels safe, uplifting, and deeply healing, not heavy or triggering. Through thoughtful rhythms, shared meals, and moments of stillness, we’ll create space for rest, reflection, and joy. Faith will be woven throughout the weekend, but you don’t need to identify as Christian to attend. All are welcome. The retreat will be inclusive of all levels of hearing loss, with intentional accommodations in place to ensure every woman feels seen, heard, and supported. Come as you are. Leave feeling restored.

FAQs

What if I don’t have NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis or VHL? Will there be retreats for other conditions or genders in the future?

This is our second annual Being Positioned Retreat—a new, but growing experience designed specifically for women with NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis and VHL. In the future, we hope to offer retreats for a wider range of rare genetic conditions and create space for both women and men to experience this kind of renewal.

How much does the retreat cost?

Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, Being Positioned will cover the entire cost of the retreat experience—including your lodging, meals, and all retreat activities.

The only cost you’ll be responsible for is getting yourself to and from the retreat in Seagrove Beach, Florida (whether you choose to fly or drive).

We know travel can be challenging, and we’ll be here to help you plan and prepare if you’re selected to attend.

What if I need help with travel arrangements?

We’re happy to help! If you need assistance booking your travel to the retreat, we can walk you through the process or help make arrangements on your behalf. We can also coordinate transportation between the airport and the retreat house to make sure your arrival and departure are as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Please note: Being Positioned will not cover the cost of travel to and from Seagrove Beach, Florida. Retreat guests will be responsible for those expenses.

What is included in the retreat experience?

Your entire retreat experience is covered, including:
Lodging in a beautiful oceanfront home

  • All meals and snacks throughout the weekend
  • Guided retreat activities and wellness sessions
  • Special gifts curated just for you
  • Time to rest, reflect, and connect in a peaceful, supportive environment

We want you to feel cared for from the moment you arrive.

Will there be medical staff at the retreat?

Yes, a registered nurse will be staying onsite and available throughout the retreat to help ensure everyone feels safe and supported. While this is not a clinical or medical retreat, we understand the unique needs that can come with NF2 and want you to feel at ease during your time with us. We’ll also have an emergency plan in place just in case any unexpected needs arise.

How do I apply or get selected?

The first step is to fill out the contact form on this page to let us know you’re interested. Once we hear from you, our team will follow up with more details and send you the retreat application. Because spots are limited, we want to make sure each participant is a good fit for this specific retreat and feels fully supported throughout the experience.

Will accommodations be made for hearing loss?

Yes! This retreat will be inclusive and welcoming to women of all hearing abilities. Our team will be using live transcribe captions during every session and throughout the weekend to ensure everyone can fully participate and follow along with ease. We’ll also provide printed materials for each session in case you miss anything or if captions are ever unclear. If you have additional accessibility needs, we’re happy to work with you to make sure you feel supported and included every step of the way.

Do I have to be Christian to attend?

While you don’t have to identify as a Christian to attend, it’s important to know that this is a faith-based retreat centered on the Christian faith. For this retreat, we’re partnering with Kaleo Retreats, a ministry that specifically creates Christ-centered wellness experiences. The weekend will include prayer, Scripture, worship, and conversations that reflect a Christian worldview.

We welcome women of all backgrounds with open arms, but we ask that guests come with a spirit of respect for the tone and focus of the retreat. This isn’t a space for blending or introducing other belief systems, it’s intentionally designed to encourage and restore women through the lens of Biblical truth.

Are alcohol or drugs allowed at the retreat?

No. This is a substance-free retreat. We ask that all participants refrain from bringing or using alcohol or recreational drugs during the weekend. Our goal is to create a safe, clear-minded, and restorative environment for everyone attending.
